Silas Mee

Silas has been an active member of the Scouting community for over a decade. Throughout the last ten years, Silas has evolved into a multi-faceted leader who has enriched both the Scouting and greater communities. He has held a variety of roles from leading fundraisers to coordinating both day and overnight camps for younger Scouts. Last year, he fundraised to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Korea. Badge trading is an important part of the experience and when Silas realized some groups did not have the means to participate, he spearheaded the collection of badges to donate in order to ensure all were included. Outside of Scouts, Silas has been involved with the Robotics Academy since 2018. Through robotics, Silas qualified for Provincials twice, participated in Vex’s international robotics competitions and gave back to the program through service. At school, Silas co-founded The Typing Club and also spent five tears as a trombone player with the concert and jazz bands. In the fall, Silas will be attending Simon Fraser University in the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering.

Connor Martens

In 2022, Connor founded the Mark R. Isfeld Secondary Food and Toiletry Pantry. With a passion for addressing food insecurity, Connor spearheaded this initiative to provide free food and toiletries to families in need within his school and community. Extending his advocacy work outside of school, in 2024 Connor became a Student Representative with the Comox Valley School District Committee for Food Security. Outside of service, Connor is an active athlete who served as a member of his school’s volleyball team for five years and as a competitive baseball player for the last 13 years.
