Artistic by nature, Disha has applied her creativity to enrich her community. From Leadership to the Multicultural Club, Disha has held team leader roles while organizing initiatives that enhance school culture. This extends to her own club, Gift of Health, which she founded in 2020 with the goal of supporting children with medical challenges. Through campaigns and fundraisers, Gift of Health raises awareness and money for BC Children’s Hospital. This included the Care Package Initiative: Disha led her team in an annual fundraiser through which they purchased items to create custom care packages designed to provide comfort and entertainment to children in the hospital over the holidays. Despite the challenges that accompanied leading a new club during the pandemic, Disha was inventive and found ways to make the club thrive. The Club flourished as Disha brought youth together to uplift and support children in the healthcare system. With aspirations to enter the field herself, Disha plans to become a dentist and will begin the journey towards that at UBC where she plans to major in Biology.
