Unlock your Future is proud to present its Scholarship Calendar. Although in no way
exhaustive, this calendar provides students with a starting point in their
scholarship search and also acts as a personal resource for marking down deadlines.
Over 30 scholarships are listed on the calendar and are
arranged by deadline. At this time, the scholarships are listed until May 2010.
There is a second PDF file which provides more information on each
scholarship, as well as the corresponding website where you can locate the application. The majority of the scholarships listed were found on: www.studentawards.com, www.bcawardsonline.org and www.scholarshipscanada.com.
**Please note: The information in the Calendar was current at the time of posting; however, it is possible for deadlines to change over time. Although the Calendar will be updated, it is to function as a starting point and it is the student's responsibility to double-check deadlines as they go.

Scholarship Application Checklist:
o Read the application—including the small print.
o Make sure you qualify for the scholarship
o Know the deadline and mark it in your calendar
o Find out if you need transcripts (originals or
copies?)
o Answer all questions
o If you need reference letters, give people 2-3
weeks notice
o Give a copy of an Activities and Accomplishments list to the person writing your reference letter
o Try to have a minimum of one reference from outside of school
o Have someone proofread
o Make a photocopy of the completed application
o Mail the application in time for the deadline
o Mark the date you sent the application in
your records book
